In this world of hate and lies
A world full of "hows" and "whys"
Divorce becoming not so odd
With bonds broken that were sealed by God
Children abused at such a young age
So much hurt impossible to gauge
Politicians cloud our mind
With people to vote for of every kind
Wars that rage overseas
Levels of pain on so many degrees
Sex being pressured onto teens
Struggling to find out what it all means
Discrimination against races
Such prejudice against other faces
Defining love becomes such an arduous endeavor
When people don’t realize love lives forever
Drugs work their way into our schools
Turning typical teens into desperate fools
Teens watch their parents get drunk and stoned
Kids feeling so disowned.
Being pressured by your peers
Pressure soon becoming your worst fear
Same sex marriage all over the news
Kids this young shouldn’t have to choose
Teenage depression everywhere
The pain is sometimes too much to bear
The suicide numbers continue to climb
The sound of death a never ending chime
Kids can no longer call their homes a safe place
A dream that is too far to chase
Future mothers become so torn
With helpless children and babies unborn
Corruption that spreads throughout our lives
Stabbing our friends with countless knives
In this teenage world today
Teens have to say what they need to say
In this teenage world today…
