It looks okay, but I don't like how Ashlee's hair and jacket are tinted green. I think you could choose a better font for the text.

Also, Internet Explorer? Seriously? You should switch over to Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome; IE is such a crappy browser.

My mom gets pissed when I do that. =\

Why? It's not like you're downloading harmful software, and they're far better than IE is. Make your own account if you share a computer with her and you can download whatever software you want.

i would change up the background. The colours match but just they way the two patterns are don't really...if that makes sense.

Before I closed funride I made stuff like this and got a bunch of orders, not everyone likes it all formal and neat and no type of error whatsoever.

The background is icky quality and I just don't feel like it suits the image.
The green tint makes her look a little weird
The text... the text is just horrible! Find a better font and learn how to blend it in so it doesn't look it was simply plastered on.

People like the really icky stuff because they think that it's one of the best things you can do. They're just ignoring all the other possibilities that you can do with your program.

Definitely could use some work on the banner, and especially the text - it's way too plain. Don't go overboard though. Also, I wouldn't choose such a strong gradient for the background, tone it down a bit.

I see where you're trying to go with this layout style. I see it work on some sites and it looks just amazingly gorgeous. However, this layout isn't a good example.. Like everyone said, the green gradient is too bright. If you're going to keep a gradient background, I suggest toning down the green to a more soft green. For the banner, I think you could get rid of the text boxes. They look too bulky, unless you try to make them a bit more thin and less wide. You could possibly replace the text boxes with overlapping text to have that text overlapping style. If you look at some sites like outspoken-kate, swimchick, 99mockingbirds, they will provide you with a much broader vision of designing a layout. Outspoken-kate has a own layout tutorial making page, I believe. I think this layout has some potential, but you just need to fix things up a lot.

Oh, and about the browser problem. Have you tried telling your mom how vulnerable IE is compared to other browsers? Have you showed her different browsers on the computer or on another computer and persuade her to switch to other browsers because of the better user interface or the graphic interface? You could try Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, or Safari. Really, it's much better.

Too much f*cking green. That shit clashes, like really f*cking bad. Nothing seems to really flow, to be honest.

And people like this kind of shit because it's all they can f*cking afford. Or they have some really f*cking bad-eyesight.

No Cristy, I gave up on this layout. Im gonna take a break from making stuff and just work on blending, different styles, texture implements. Hopefully get better.

The green is wayyyy to much. The toxic waste green is just icky, especially with black. Other than the color it looks good, but maybe try a softer font. It looks kind of blocky and pixely.
