does anyone know how i can upload fonts onto photoshop? i extracted the files and i have them on my computer but how do i get them onto photoshop to use?

After you've unzip them, right click your start button and click on EXPLORE. Then CONTROL PANEL >> FONTS. Dump the fonts in there.

but now photoshop is making all my fonts grainy looking..

To fix that, try changing the antialiasing on the font (next to font size.) Just experiment with that - different fonts look better with different AA settings.
