I used a Div Overlay from here and made my own layout from it. It looks great in safari or firefox, but in internet explorer (which sadly most people are using) the transparency comes out all botched up. I tried using PNGs, switching the PNGS to GIF, nothing works. Can someone fix it so it comes out right. The problem is that where there should be white comes out the color of the background. Taking out the background and leaving a solid white one is my temporary workaround but it looks better with a background. Changing the tranparencys to white does nothting. You must be saving the file(s) wrong because my transparent PNG images show just fine on Internet Explorer. Try following this tutorial.

I think I saved them correct, I saved them in photoshop cs4 on a mac. They come up transparent on photobucket but I think it's something about the transparency in the code of the layout. Because parts of my layout come out transparent in the layout that weren't saved transparent in the picture. I'm pretty sure though that I did it right (ithink) because in firefox and safari they come out completely normal.

EDIT: Nevermind I don't think I chose to save it as interlaced in photoshop. I'll try that when I get home.



It didn't work. Any suggestions?

Posts merged. You're not supposed to choose which colour of the layout should be transparent. That's probably why parts of your layout show through even though you don't mean them to. You are supposed to crop out areas that you want to be transparent. You know they'll be transparent when you see the canvas in their place. Then save it the way this tutorial said so.
