Prisoner
moonlight shimmers upon a stream
captive minds do roam free
for life without bonds they do dream
wind gently blows in the night
bringing with it hope for flight
from this life of oppression and fright
Water trickling down the stone.
bringing life for the prisoner, lone
in the cell, hear the moan.
Footsteps bring with them fear
of what through the door might appear
a fellow captive, one you hold dear
feel the dread of the stone walls
no one around will heed your calls
nobody to help you after your falls
moonlight shimmers upon a stream
that brings and takes away a dream
that one day you might roam free
