Can someone tell me why a myspace page would look different on one computer then it does on another? In terms of blogs, friends, things like that. One person says its to far to the right, another says it looks fine and the 3rd says to far to the left. Any ideas?

the page is www.myspace.com/freq54

You must have made this on a computer with a resolution of 1280x800. the image is centered, but the sections are absolute. so you need to code it differently. Use left:50% for the sections and then use margin-left: and change it till it is where you want. that will fix it.

I won't talk about the whole layout though.. you really should never use a big image like that. and about me in the image is a no no. and I see you have some stretched images. also a no no.

and btw, its because the first guys resolution was 1024x768, the seconds was 1280x800 and the last guy most likey had 1440x900 or larger.
moose2b
Ok so i did the left:50% and then used margin-left and they say its still off but it looks fine to me
Maccabee
still looks off for me to. what is you resolution.

hmmm...Your browser has horizontal scrollbars? I think that has something to do with it. for a start, no website, should be wider then 960px so thats why stuff is messing up. I woudln suggest getting the browser, mozilla firefox, and get the latest verson which is 3.5, because it zooms a whole page, not just the text. once you get that, zoom out. that will make it immitate a larger resolution. then, center it and it should work.

you can zoom out on a pc by pressing ctrl+-
moose2b
i use firefox and it is the newest one

then press ctrl and the minus sign a few times.

It's probably because you used relative positioning for the images that make up your top banner, or at least the header image itself.

CODE
<div class="myCoreDiv" style="position:relative; top:-200px; width:1154px; left: -10px;"> <i class="i"> when DONE editing CHANGE the border:2px to border:0px or change the magenta to the color you want your border.----!</i> <i class="i"> !----START CUSTOM CONTENT BLOCK 1----!</i> <img src="http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/4581/24539567.jpg" /> <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmNkYmFieS5jb20vQXJ0aXN0L0ZyZXF1ZW5jeUZpZnR5Rm91cg==" style="position:absolute; top:180px; left:20px;"> <img src="http://x.myspace.com/images/clear.gif" style="width:120px; height:110px;" /></a> <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmZhY2Vib29rLmNvbS9wYWdlcy9GcmVxdWVuY3ktNTQvNjg3MDk1MjA0NDA=" style="position:absolute; top:230px; left:150px;"> <img src="http://x.myspace.com/images/clear.gif" style="width:150px; height:50px;" /></a> <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tL3VzZXIvZnJlcXVlbmN5NTQ=" style="position:absolute; top:220px; left:320px;"> <img src="http://x.myspace.com/images/clear.gif" style="width:170px; height:70px;" /></a> <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vYXguaXR1bmVzLmFwcGxlLmNvbS9XZWJPYmplY3RzL01aU3RvcmUud29hL3dhL2Jyb3dz

Does it look ok to you now?
Mickey
It looks better, but the Videos and Friends/Comments section are still a little off.
moose2b
Mike, so if i change that to absolute and then just adjust the divs to line up on my side it should be alright for everyone else right?
Mickey
You also need to use 50% for the left property then add a margin-left value and adjust that accordingly. It should be fine then.
moose2b
How does it look now?
ZeT0
Just the YouTube player is off.
Also, are you aware you don't have a background for it?
Or did you want it like that? Aha.
moose2b
i know i was more worried about getting everything lined up first. i can just throw a bg up. Problem is everything looks off to me now.
Mickey
I looked through your codes and I had a bit of trouble because you don't make use of line-breaks. It was so confusing. Would you please post all the codes you're using with the lines appropriately separated? It'll help loads.
