Why are we still going on? Why I am still goin on? Because I feel like I need to have my voice heard, because thats the purpose of forums?

First of all, I would like to point out that the author of that is 1) A person who doesn't go out much 2) An ignorant individual and 3) Just a loser. It seems to me that there are too few asian guys around him, because most asian guys around here are not like that at ALL. Obviously he has never been around asians who spike their hair, dress nice, wear cologne, has taste, has a physique, has skills such as breaking, and knows how to treat a girl. I mean c'mon, in this day and age do you really see asians with a bowl cut who walk around in tight pants with pens in their pockets? This guy is stupid and has his information twisted. And haha, would you really listen to a guy who goes "we are so awesome!"

I don't know about you guys but around here where I live, asian girls are taken by asian guys 95% of the time. Places where the site of an asian/white couple is common are places where there are too FEW asians, and the singles have to go out with SOME ONE, right? And I see plenty of asian guys who go wit white girls, hispanic girls, african american, whatever. It's all about the PERSON, not what race or ethnicity they are, dammit why don't people realize this?

Now I'm not being biased or anything but you know it's true that asian people usually date with others of their own race.

Okay, I was willing to peacefully pass this article by with a smile, shrug, and "everybody has their opinions, so it's all good," but the more I kept reading, the more the article irked me. Obviously the author of "The Curse of the Asian Man" lacked the "awesomeness" to look beyond race and realize that people have a personality under all that hair, skin, and eye color. What's wrong with an Asian guy "borrowing" from hip-hop culture? If the guy feels that it fits his personality, he has the right to act and dress however he wants without a "fellow Asian" judging his inherant lack of "Asian culture."

Not only does Mr. "Cursed" Asian disregard an individual's personal feelings on the matter of culture, but he shows a signifigantly stereotypical view of "the white man." Sure, it's pretty easy to say that all Asians are smart, honorable, successful, and sweet guys. It's also just as easy to say that the average Caucasian* is an alcoholic, layabout, and ne'er-do-well. But is this a neccesary comparision? More importantly, is it an accurate comparsion? Perhaps this author is basing his calculations on personal experience with Caucasians (or Americans? See footnote). In other words, "The Curse of the Asian Man" screams an obvious lack of foresight and/or open-minded conceptions about different cultures, individuality, and traditional values.

Not only does the author misjudge "the majority" of Caucasian and Asian men, but how about his portrayal of Asian girls? Actually, my Asian friend says she mostly likes Asian guys. Maybe Asian girls don't go out with him because he's so "bitter." Or could it be that maybe it's NOT that he's Asian but they don't like the personality he just happens to have? This guy just can't see beyond culture. Everything is either "Asian" or "white." And maybe the types of girls HE'S into are the types that are more attracted to Caucasian boys**. Again, we see him judge stereotypically by his experiences.



*Has anyone else noticed the author's constant referal to the "white" man as an implied American more than anything else? Or perhaps, in his mind, the only "white" man is the American man. How about men from France, Germany, or Russia (etc)?

**Has this guy ever realized that it's not all about a certain culture's "majority" and "representatives" but about simple attraction? When it comes down to it, some people just have different preferences. Take a lot of the topics in CB for example- people have said that they're more attracted to a certain race. It's a part of their personality, it's not like it's neccesarily their choice.
