I've been talking to this guy for like.. a month now and he's really sweet.

He asked me to Homecoming and we held hands and everything. He walks me to class sometimes and always gives me nice long hugs but I don't know what's really going on. Am I supposed to assume that we're dating? Or are we still "talking"? What do I dooo?

It's not official unless one of you asks each other out.

The next time you two are talking, ask "Are we dating?" and if he says yes, then you are dating.

"are we dating" seems kind of a super straight forward question. being straight forward isnt bad, but in this situation i think "so..whats going on between us?" same thing, but atleast u can discuss what u have before u assume and look like a douch ;o

Does he still refer you as a "friend" instead of "girlfriend" or "lady?"

I don't know what he refers to me as. Whenever his friends see us holding hands, they're just like ________S GOT A GIRLFRIEND! And he just smiles. We always hold hands and kiss eachother on the cheek but he hasn't really asked me yet.

I think it is clear that he has interest in you. But the question is, do YOU like him? Once homecoming is over, what else is there to this relationship?

Well, it's obvious he's into you, otherwise he'd tell his friends to stop teasing him and tell them that you're not his girlfriend. Just ask him where you guys stand... you don't have to necessarily ask him "are we dating?" if you're not comfortable asking that, which is completely understandable.

ask him if you are just friends. asking if we are dating makes it to easy for him to say yes when he should romantically be asking you out.
although its always awckward for me to ask out a girl.
i mean "do you want to be my girlfriend?" just sounds awful. but i cant think of any other way of phrasing it.
