Tbh, I feel like CB's design focus is dying. The queue must be violently ill or something, 'cause there sure as hell aren't a lot of layouts being submitted and even fewer are making the front page.

I used to check every other day for inspiration, now I hit it up once a week, if that.

I submitted a rather horrible graphic as a joke not too long ago. Queue was empty when I submitted it, and it took a week for it to get rejected. Maybe new and impatient users are discouraged by the amount of time it takes for their graphics to get accepted/rejected?

I got no issues being that bitch. I woulda written a lot of lulz in the rejected message.

No, it was a shock image. I did it to f*ck with the design staff.

Actually, now that I think about it, this kind of behavior might have to do with so much of the design staff stepping down.

make a twitter, and update every time theres a new layout submitted
advertise CB
make a tumblr, start posting stuff there
people can reblog it, and people will check this site out

I think the twitter thing was brought up before. Maybe not, idk. But it's easier to just come to the website to find out what's new than go to another website and then come here anyways, y'know.

I think the whole point is that more people would be exposed to it. Right now the only way people find CB is through layouts

maybe we should just advertise the forums! cause the forums arent just layouts or myspace stuff. in fact, we rarely talk about that.

twitter and tumblr should both have createblog in them.
advertise about the design support, graphics, etc,
and web help. cause myspace is dying. seriously

I think there are ways we could make the site more up-to-date. RSS feeds for layout stuff, for example. An RSS feed for forums. An interface so someone could make a mobile site for iPhones, etc. All this is entirely doable...but Jusun is the only person with the power to radically alter the site.

well lets still advertise the site. see tumblr has over million people on it,
at first, should try and follow alot of people, post some of these wonderful
graphics people made from createblog, on tumblr people can "reblog" the posts,
so all of there followers can see, if they like it, they would really go on the blog, and see that the tumblog is dedicated from createblog, they'll come to this site, we should start now, and tumblr has a submit box, so if people from there want's to submit something they can do it on tumblr, and with the staff here being able to post stuff on there too, we could make it to one of the top tumblog's. so we could put more of createblog on google.

now if jusun could come back, we should ask him to preview not just layouts,
but tutorials, and graphics, on the font of createblog.com, if he ever came back.

I think this mainly has to do with Jusun because he says he's going to come back to fix or add something but never does. There's only so much we can do. Also the older members won't stop being mean to the new members that sign up which is why none of them stay. :/

the time is always slow and how did you know it was empty?

when you go to submit a graphic it will say how many graphics are in the queue

There's a number for each queue on every submit page.

it's not an awful idea. ideas are what we need. we gotta remember that a lot of us here are cynical and are quick to dismiss anyone giving any idea if we don't initially see the end result working. it can't hurt to try shit though really. at this point the real plus to this is that we don't have to have f*cking jusun to do it.


now that i think about it, it could work. i agree about expanding exposure. to make the idea more refined though, maybe we could narrow down what goes on it. maybe our most popular recent layouts go on there, or ones that are just really nice designs. that would not only work to present the best of cb but it could also spark some competition and be an added bonus to those submitting. if you make a good layout and it goes on the tumblr or whatever we have as a way to promote cb then it will inevitably be clicked on more and they'll get more exposure. that kind of system would benefit both parties.

It could be about design in general, not just hey cb has a new layout". Kinda like the createblog magazine thing.

that's be even better. we could combine both of those ideas.


or if we wanted to do a lot of work, which we probably don't but you never know if we get more DS, then we could do two separate ones. one more geared towards designers and one that shows of the best new cb layouts that is more for people who just want layouts and don't care about design news/resources/ect.


becuase we have two different audiences. the designers who come here for design help and resources, and then the users who come here because they aren't designers and want designs.

It would have to be about design in general. If it was just hey cb has a new layout, then what would stop it from just falling back into just another site like pimp-my-profile or some shit?

yeah i know, but i only say that because not everyone who comes and looks at the layouts is interested in designing things themselves.

i think combining them at first would be the best idea. but i can see some people who want to just see the "best" new layouts cb has.

yeah i'd be down to help and the good thing about tumblr is it will let us add people to have group access. that's handy for me at least because i'm on tumblr already so if i see a good design article or something then i can just post it straight from my home page to the cb tumblr.
