Hey does anyone here have a tv tuner card that they use on their laptops? If so how does it work? Would you recommend getting one?

I've got one of these that I use with my desktop. It's pretty nice, worth buying at this price. The nicer VisionTek and EVGA ones aren't worth the extra money though.

Ok but now let me ask you this....Do I actually have to have cable in order for this to work? Like what If I don't have cable?

Well, if you want to watch cable, then yes, you have to have cable.

(That's only a slightly snarky answer. You can do other things with a TV tuner card, such as hook up a VCR if you still have one of those.)

I can watch regular tv too right?

From what I understand, they still work if you have that digital converter box, which sounds like a gimmick to me.
