why do you bother having a clock if you got one on the taskbar below?

i dont use my sidebar, it makes this shadow on the side of the screen which i dont like. i got my currency converter and my notes, to write my to do list on.

oh i see now... those are kinda like gadgets? i always thought they were just called "add-ons"...i guess not.. ive been taught.. i dont have any Gadgets on mine.. i like to keep my desktop all simple..
