So i want to bake a cake for my parents belated birthday. (only reason because my mom told me not to bake one because she wants to bake her carrot cake but hasn't yet)
Anyways i know some of you guys are pretty good in the kitchen.
I was wondering if anyone knew a good recipe for fondant. I've seen some that are really simple to some that require much more ingredients and im not sure which is the best to use.

I know i can go buy some at walmart because i've seen it there. However i don't want to pay $18 for something that will probably not taste the greatest.
I also know its difficult to make but i'm willint to take the challenge.

I've already made marshmallow fondant, but now i want more of the so to say "classy" kind like in some of those cake shows so to say.

Well, first thing you need to know is that there are two different types of fondant, which should make your search easier. One is a poured kind, kind of like a mousse, (which I've had baked into a cake, sooo good) and a rolled kind; it's obvious that you're going after a rolled kind. Fondant is pliable and solid because of gelatin (or agar) and glycerin, so any kind you make will have to have those two ingredients. Gelatin should be in your local grocery store; glycerin, maybe not, unless your grocery store is the bomb.

Where can you most likely find Glycerin if it happens to not be at a foodstore?
I doubt walmart. I have a foodstore that i can check...

Apparently at cake decorating shops. Check your local arts and crafts store; the Micheal's closest to me offers cake decorating lessons, so they must carry glycerin.
