Full Version: How Do You Balance Life During School?

I looked around, and didn't see a thread on this, so I thought I may as well make it. How do you balance your workload at school, extra-curricular activities and your personal workload outside of school? How much time do you put into each of the following, and which do you find most difficult to keep up with?

Monday: Guitar @ 2 - 3:40. Then nothing.
Tuesday: Criminology @ 4 - 5:15. Then nothing.
Wednesday: Guitar @ 2 - 3:40. Photography @ 6 - 10:40. Then nothing.
Thursday: Criminology @ 4 - 5:15. Then nothing.
Friday: Photoshop @ 12 - 5. Then nothing.

I put nothing into nothing. -_-

^ That's a lot of nothing's hanging out by those somethings.

It usually takes me about a week or so to adjust. My mom has a copy of my school schedule at her house so that she knows what time of the day to make doctor appointments and what days I can be there to take her to the store and stuff. Sometimes my dad will be there and I don't have to worry so much. He doesn't really care about my schedule, as long as I make sure we have enough groceries, do the dishes, laundry, etc. He's pretty helpless and at 60 he's just now beginning to learn how to cook for himself.

I'm finally using a planner, so that I know when I have to have more time for homework and days when I won't. So I'll just make plans accordingly. I don't see a lot of friends because of my schedule sad.gif but it'll get better once my dad fully moves in with my mom. Then she can cook for him and clean up after him and he can take her to her appointments. _smile.gif

Tbh, I'm kind of bad at balancing out my social life/free time and school. I have a tendency to do my homework at the last minute. Not all the time but I do find that balance. pinch.gif I'm big on procrastination.

I am very good at finding anything to do rather than homework/study. I'm in college and Ive gotten pretty far (about 70 credits) but I was a major slacker in high school. I never did my homework or studied, I don't even know how I passed. So, I am a huge procrastinator and usually leave studying/homework until the day before/day of.

Out of curiosity, why doesn't he live with her now?

Right now I'm just in school and working. I usually work one day during the week and then on the weekend. As far as my social life it's pretty much nonexistent with the workload that I have right now. Occasionally I'll go out on a Friday night but it really depends on how much work I have to do.
