Just an idea, and I probably already know what the answer will be, "We can't because Jusun is never on", but if he ever decides to come back, we should implement layout, graphic, script, and tutorial ratings just like we have topic ratings on some of the forums. Just an idea though.

I feel like they may become abused :3. But I think 90% of them will be honest. So if you want to add an additional filter like the top user rated myspace div layouts, then you'll get back layouts from well reputable designers (eg. Gregg, Gabi, Fairnu) Within your other search filters. It would be an awesome implement. Of course Jusun is the only one that could do it.

Cool idea. But of course, there will be some ignorant assholes who won't be honest so idk...

I think that's a great idea. I don't really think dishonesty would be a problem. Yeah, you'd get your occasional dipshit that decides to give lower ratings to good layouts, but it would probably balance out.

Wouldn't all the submissions get high ratings, because the staff only accepts good submissions?

I think if people want to look for the best layouts, tutorials, etc. that they can easily look at the ones with the most favorites....

^Not necessarily. None of the layouts are hideous because of the guidelines we have to follow, but some are definately better than others. Just because a layout is cleanly done doesn't necessarily mean it's interesting or creative.

The number of favorites will favor the better designed layouts, rather than a rating system. Here is why:
A typical rating system ranks from 1-to-10, which unfortunately, will be abused as being a 1-or-10 rating system, which will affect those layouts/etc that end up on top, and those that end up on the bottom. With other search options such as number of favorites, or the highest rated in the past 2 months (trends) it can be somewhat positive implement. It'd probably sound counter productive, but possibly a multi-option rating system per layout would fare better for createblog. For instance, instead of just rating the layout 1-to-10 in the options that it's better than that one. You could rate it on it's creativeness, use of color, typography, etc. Possibly, with every rating whether in favor of the layout, or not in favor, a user had to give a constructive criticism response.

You never know.

Tell that to the person(s) who spammed tutorials. haha
I see no reason why (should the person able to make these types of changes ever makes these types of changes) this shouldn't be given a chance. I think that it would make layout searching a much easier process.
