http://www.myspace.com/natethagreatgfx

the layout.how the black space isz equal to the tables etc
and the lines on the side.and both sides are even.

is there some kinda length width i gotta figure out???

deadmellotron
Make the image in Photoshop or Paint. Fill the middle table with a color of your choice. Make the image width 1600 and the height 1200. Start making the first column at 400px and end at 1200px. Then start from 1200px to 1600px, and they should be even.

okay i didnt know how to tell the width and height so i used the
rectangular tool and look at the info box - W and H
and i made the rectangular tool 1200px then put it in the middle.well
i dont know what you mean about "Then start from 1200px to 1600px, and they should be even"

Meimiko
It's just a banner on a background it's not that complicated, it only looks that way because of the way it's designed.

The columns should be even so one side doesn't look wider than the other.

This seems more like a graphic problem, so

Moved to Graphics Help.

Okay, do this so you get the perfect columns.

Get a blank image ready in Photoshop with the following attributes:

Width: 1600px
Height: 1200px

Then open another Photoshop Document with the following attributes:

Width: 800px
Height: 1200px

Now in this Photoshop document, use the Paint Bucket Tool and fill it with the color you want the middle to be. Then merge visible layers (if any) and copy it.

Now go back to your other Photoshop document and paste it there. Photoshop automatically pastes it in the center, so now you have your even columns.
MoneyIsDaMotive
yeah i got it
so all the myspace tables gonna be in it right?
deadmellotron
Correct. Can this be closed now?
MoneyIsDaMotive
how can i divide the middle if i want it all black?

deadmellotron
Use the line tool and select the color red. Then run it down the edges of the sides of the black image you posted. Then change the background layer color to black. Then do your design up until the red line. When your designs are finished, delete the layers for the two lines.
MoneyIsDaMotive
can i do like one section like the left, and then copy it. and paste it on the other side then free transform it?so both sections look the same? blink.gif
deadmellotron
Yeah, you can. After you do the left side, copy then paste it, then Ctrl+T and in the angle box type 180 then press the check mark to save that transform and use your move tool.
MoneyIsDaMotive
okay can you wait like 1 hour.and if i dont post nothing in this.
then you can close?
deadmellotron
Sure
MoneyIsDaMotive
you know the styles.
when is a good point to use them?
Mikeplyts
You mean like Layer Styles? As in, Blending Options?

You can use those whenever you want really. It doesn't matter if you do or don't. You just have to make sure it doesn't look like total crap so you should probably add those in when finish both sides and when the designs are done.
MoneyIsDaMotive
you can close this
