Alright, since Uronacid brought up the Netbooks, it reminded me of the Acer Aspire One I had that broke. I still have it because Acer won't fix it. The laptop doesn't even boot XP or anything. The F10 reformat doesn't even work either. When I turn it on it says:
NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to restart
I'll press that and get the same thing every time.

Try pressing enter repeatedly as soon as you turn it on.

Your boot loader is f*cked up, so it can't load the operating system.
Do you have a reinstall CD/DVD/other disk that can reinstall the OS?

The bad thing about the whole netbook thing is it doesn't have a CD drive. :/

There must be
some way to reset the system to factory settings.

Would you be able to figure it out if I gave you the exact model I have and everything? I went to the BIOS settings and clicked restore settings to default and that didn't do anything either.

Does it have a usb? I've been reading about usb boot disks, but honestly don't know much about it.

I was thinking I could buy a USB portable CD rom, but those things run really expensive, and my job barely gives me enough money to dish that out of my wallet.

Get an external cd drive or ask find someone else who can let you borrow one.

You're a lifesaver Rebs. Thank you. I'm going to try this out now.

As mipadi said, you're boot loader is missing.
NTLDR (NT LOADER)
You will need to boot from an XP CD. To do this, you will need to purchase a USB CD-ROM drive. There are also ways around it with a USB flash drive.
Pop an XP CD in the drive
Turn on your computer and boot to CD
Get to the recovery console
you can use the following command while in the recovery console to recover your damaged NTLDR file:
expand d:\i386\ntldr._ c:\ntldr

^ Do you think you can help me out with trying it with a USB flash drive? I tried what Rebs linked me to, but it's not working. :/
Edit: I think what Rebs gave me isn't working because the USB flash drive isn't the primary boot device maybe?

Then you need change the CMOS settings so that the computer attempts to boot from the USB flash drive first. You should see an option to goto setup by pressing one of the F keys or DEL when the computer is booting up and you can see the acer logo.

Sounds like it's not finding something required to boot and is just restarting as a result.
Follow these instructions to turn your flash drive into a boot disk:
http://www.bootdisk.com/pendrive.htm As long as your computer has the same OS as your netbook you can copy the NTLDR file from your C:\ drive to your flash drive after you've made it bootable. Copy the NTLDR file to your netbooks C:\ once you've booted to the flash drive.

^ It didn't work. But I did try copying files to the flash drive using the command prompt and that worked splendidly. Setup is formatting my hard drive right now, so we'll see what happens from here.
Any mods, please leave this open, I'll probably be needing help.
Oh, quick question. Since Acer has the F10 reboot, if I format my computer with XP on my flash drive, will that function still work?

Hey there...
This one can be real tricky to solve but there's a step by step solution on the website below that i've had success with.
This error appears when NTLDR's attributes have been altered or there is another problem with NTLDR.
To try the most common solution for this, read the following article:
PS: NTLDR is missing. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.
http://www.proposedsolution.com/solutions/ps0013.phpIf the above does not fix it you may need to follow the Windows Boot Troubleshooting Guide on that site.
Hope this all helps.

Yes, why not. You'd be formatting your flash drive with XP. It wouldn't change anything on your HDD. That function will still reboot the computer. Are you referring to reloading the OS or rebooting the machine?

I was going to reload XP on there, since I really don't need anything on the laptop and I can just start fresh. But, last night while formatting, it said my hard drive is damaged, so I'm guessing it might have cracked? or it could have just came unplugged from something, but I only mess with desktop's insides, so I'm probably going to bitch out Acer until they fix my shit.

The HDD is probably not cracked. It may be damaged. HDD's (even new ones) go bad all the time. If you can get to DOS then you should run CHKDSK on the HDD and see if it's really bad.

Acer is being really stupid. We have been e-mailing back and forth all day and they keep telling me to try changing Boot Options in the BIOS and to do the Alt+F10 thing, and I told them it doesn't work. When they tried to get me to do this one thing on their site, it said there was no bootable partition. I told them I'm not doing anything else they tell me because I'm not going to void my warranty, I told them I want it fixed by them, not me.

I got it for my birthday on December 29th and it broke January 11th. The purchase date though was December 18th I believe. I know you're probably wondering damn TJ, why are you just now doing this now? I haven't really had the time, between my grandma being at the hospital, tension with friends, and work. I bought it at Wal Mart. Wal Mart had a thirty day store guaruntee, but they wouldn't take it back.

I seriously didn't have the time. It's still under warranty so they should still fix it. Acer keeps sending me the same robot e-mail telling me how to reboot it, but I told them it says itself that the damn hard drive is damaged. It seems like they're having me try all these risky things so I void my warranty.
