I've downloaded Hypercam before, and it went horribly slow on my computer. I want to download it so I can make some video tutorials, but I know for a fact my computer wouldn't be able to handle it. I have 2GB of RAM and an Intel Celeron D Processor which isn't even much at all. Does anyone know of any lightweight programs like Hypercam that can record my screen without it going all slow? Also, MyCams goes slow for me, too.

With or without watermarks?

It doesn't really matter to me. I mean, if the watermark is way too annoying, then I guess not. But if it is a free version of something, I could probably crack it.

Dude, I made videos that are HD on youtube.
I use camstudio and set the fixed region to 1280x720.
Also in the setting, I set the quality of everything to high.
Then open windows movie maker and then publish it and save it as wmv hd 720p.
It looks amazing and on youtube it adds an hd option. Ill show you the test I uploaded if you want.
But if your screen resolution isnt 1280x720 or larger it cant be hd on youtube.

My resolution is much higher than that. Could you show me the test?

Let me see...
Well when it is open and not recodoring it uses 5k memory memory.
As it starts recoring it changes to 11k. and as it goes on longer and longer it does get a little higher. Also things get a little glitchy, like when you drag windows it does that thing where it shows lots of them and like drags it so you may want to go to control panel>system>performance settings> and turn off shwo windows contents when dragging. That about it though. I have been recording for 60 seconds now and it is at 12k. So it is relatively light.
O and the shortcuts are really cool too.
f8 starts recording, and pauses and f9 stops the recording. And you can set it so it hides, so there isnt even a clue of what recorder you are using.

Oh, Joseph. When I try it on Full Screen my computer lags kind of bad. :/ Is there a way I can set it to a fixed amount of space but the space moves with my mouse?

Here are all the settings you should use...
options>program options>and check all 4 of thoee boxes.
minimize, hide flashing, save on exit and the translucent thing.
But you will have to use the f8 and f9 shortcuts.
And in video options set it all the the highest quality. Also in options, make sure autopan is checked. Then go to region>fixed region and set it to be 1280 wide and 720 high. That why it will fit perfectly on the youtube player and it can be hd. If you dont need it to be hd it can be smaller of course.
And then like I said if you want it to be hd you will have to open the avi in windows movie maker and save it as wmv HD 720p.
This will also reduce the file size a lot but it wont loss quality.

The first one there doesn't really apply to this. It's for webcams. The second one is very vague, do you have a website?
