Put up the original image as well so we can have something to compare it to. Looks alright. I wouldn't remove the wrinkles on her shirt, if I were you. It'd make the image look a bit unrealistic. Have you tried sharpening it at all?

You messed with her eyes, didn't you? I can tell.

Ehhh... I think you shouldn't mess with the eyes. If that's actually her eye color, I suggest you darken it some. I also agree with Mike, just leave the shirt as it is, or else it would make it look really unrealistic.

Experiment so you can see whether certain changes will improve your image or not. Personally, I don't mess with hair or clothing when retouching photos, unless it needs fixing. Her hair and shirt are fine so I say just leave them alone. Decrease the eye's brightness for a more realistic effect. Finally, try to enhance your photo's colourization. It looks quite plain.

Yeah, make the colors pop out some more and I think it'll be just fine.

I would remove that pole thing on the wall. It's distracting.

Well, don't pop out the colors too much, because the image quality isn't that great..
For these type of pictures, I usually mess with the Skin tone and the background with Selective Coloring( Mess with specific colors ) , Curves( Change the tone of the picture ) and Brightness/Contrast( Mess with the lighting and contrast of the picture) and making the picture look more natural or pretty.
I made a 2MP picture look like it's taken from a 8MP. so that's the wonderful things photoshop can do.

Check out some tutorials on
this LiveJournal community. In addition, try editing its brightness and contrast. I noticed your version was a little darker than the original so that should really help.

i played with selective colourin and i got this
its much brighter
you think this is good?
and.......i really should fix the lips huh?
how can i do that?
Mickey
Jul 14 2009, 06:07 PM
There's nothing wrong with the lips. If you mean the colouring, then yes. The whole image has too much of a magenta tint.
Mikeplyts
Jul 14 2009, 06:08 PM
No, that colouring doesn't look any better.

What do you mean by "fix the lips"?

Image > Adjustments > Color Balance. Play around with the tones, especially on the Magenta and Green slider.

Mikeplyts

It still has that Magenta (pink) tint to it. :\ Try messing around with the levels too. (Image > Adjustments > Levels)

Jul 14 2009, 06:36 PM
Looks better actually, but your selective colouring has done some damage on certain areas, specifically the eyes. Try Mike's suggestion.

I can tell from her nails and phone. If that's the case, leave it. I'm sure she'll like it as it is.

Nah. I think the previous version looks best. The latest one has been mixed with green tones so her arm has a sort of vomit colour now.

1.) CS4 - that's an expensive program for someone toying around!
2.) Why would you want to brighten her skin?
Actually, I have no advice. I don't know what the heck I'm doin' in Photoshop.
