Defiantly edit the add section. I think you should just change "advertisement" too plan white (or at last make it smaller), and get rid of the drop shadow on the brackets. Other than that I think this is your best layout yet. :D
manny-the-dino
^Agreed. Not sure about the pink. But it looks great, Mike! I love the background. You keep impressing me with your skills. flowers.gif
Mikeplyts
alright, I'll edit it later. Thanks. happy.gif
datass
oooh i like it. the overall font looks a little plain, normal, if you know what i mean. but i like it, i like the pink-ness.
HeartOfPandora
I think the background fades out too quickly, but other than that it's all thumbsup.gif.
salcha4u
Hm, don't prefer the pink line down the middle.
JackRapington
^I agree. Maybe make it a really light gray?
salcha4u
I was thinking make the right column a different bg color, like a light grey or the light blue in the background.

Updated. _smile.gif
manny-the-dino
I think the last version looks best.
Mikeplyts
Do you think I should change the brackets to a soft white as well?
manny-the-dino
Yeah probably. Or try it and show us how it looks like. nod.gif
Mikeplyts
K, updated. I think it looks alight but I think it's just the pink AD fillers that make it suckish. :\
manny-the-dino
Yeah I agree but it technically won't be there amirite? If so, it looks great :D
JackRapington
I think you should make the whole add section smaller

Hrm, alright, let me see how that looks like.

Oh, and I was wondering, should I just put the Advertisements section into the right column? If I do, what do you think I should do with that area?
Cyanide-
change the pink bars to black imo

I don't think anything needs to be changed with the last version. I kinda like it how it is. I suppose the ads could be considered a bit in the way, but at least you don't have those huge, square, talking ones all over the place.
synapse
Reminds me a bit of squarespace. I think this is one of the best ones that you've made. I think that you should remove the advertisement block from the top. it's just horrendous. You should do something about the font used for the main text in the blog. It's very default-y. and one big paragraph with that font, is sore to the eyes. I like the background and the header the best. Change it up a bit, not just adjusting one thing at a time, so you can have a variety of different choices to work from, and balance what works all the time, to what doesn't.
Mikeplyts
^ Hrm, what font would you suggest? I mean, I'm going to need a font that most likely all computers will already have installed, nawmean? Yeah, I agree with you, I'm just going to remove the Advertisements section and add it to the right column.
JackRapington
I still think you should just make it smaller. Like a row of small 50x50 icons.
Mikeplyts
^But I don't think that's the size of an advertisement button. It's like 120x50. mellow.gif
JackRapington
lulz I was thinking affiliates never mind
Mikeplyts
lol.

I think you should try and make it your own more rather than fallow the tutorial for that layout so exactly since it's for your site, after all.
