i think CB should have an image hosting section, and i don't mean like hosting the submited layout's images.. i mean one like imageshack.. idk but that's my opinion
what do yall think?

why though when there is image shack, photobucket, tiny pic, ect ect

Jun 8 2009, 09:04 PM
That would be nice, but we need Jusun for that.

I think it would be nice to have one. I hate tinypic. Imageshack is full of ads. I love photobucket, but it makes you create an account, and I can never remember my account name.

I think it would be kind of nice but that would just take up a bunch more server space and cB would run slower.

It'd be a HUGE waste of space, IMO. Why store here when you can store somewhere else?

because like some one said photobucket requires account and you have limited bandwith, and besides it's right here on the spot where, where myspace layouts can be found..

it's just my opinion, and besides why not a new server

or it could be a service offered to members.. who knows..

This would still waste space where layouts and graphics and other usable stuff could be stored.

But Tinypic and Imageshack don't require accounts. You can just upload images there.
Like a lot of people have said, it's a waste of space, tbh. :/

I agree. Plus, Createblog still has problems sometimes with the images of the layouts that are uploaded. I think it'd create more issues.

It's easy to do, as I have done it myself, but it represents many security risks unless it is done well. And like Mike pointed it, it would make cb much slower as the server would be working much harder. And I doubt the cB servers are large enough to store so many photos.

I have had photobucket for years and years and have never had a issue with bandwidth or is just me?

I know, with as many members as Cb has, and as many pages are hosted on Cbs servers, the servers are beast.
That being said, I don't think it would be necessary. There are plenty of hosting sites already available, and it's a major security risk and an extreme load on any server without quad Xeon processors and 16 gigs of RAM.

Not to mention it would just increase the number of inactive members.

that' would be awesome if cb had an image hosting shit that will not reduce the image quality. i'd love to go through n00ds =)

It's always nice to be able to offer a variety of services and hosting images is definitely something most people enjoy. It just doesn't really work with this particular site, which is grounded in layouts and graphic offerings. I'd rather see this place perfect what it currently offers than further over extend itself.

I'm guessing hermes wanted this closed and moved to resolved. If not, let someone on staff know and we'll get it moved back for you.
