Well, Google is a good start. If you're new to all of this and need to start learning the basics, it's not very difficult to find things. There's a whole section dedicated to tutorials on this site, too.

I'm pretty sure Lissa Explains It All is the mother of all HTML tutorial sites. I've used it and HTML coding is a breeze to me now.
And keep hitting next until you have gone through all 35 pages. You may want to read 5-10 in a day, bookmark your place and keep reading. And as you go make a page to practice and try out everything you see. It is tedious but it's the only way to learn. Then do the same thing with css, and you will have all the information needed to make a website.

If you are the type who like to learn from screencast, you can check out. css-tricks.com. To get started you should watch screencast #58, which teaches you the basic of HTML and CSS.
