o crap...Ya i though about it after I realized that you two may have only done it because you cant really get viruses on those computers.

I did it because I got redirected to it. Not because I couldn't get a virus on this computer.

PS: You can get a virus on any *nix operating system. That includes Linux, BSD, UNIX, Solaris, OS X, Minix, etc. It's just not very likely.

Luckily Linux does not allow root access, thus preventing the virus from infecting anything essential to the operating system.

So I guess all those times I was logged in at root at work were all just a big joke?

Nope.. I should have been more clear. Linux doesn't give you root access at all times unless you make yourself superuser/root.


But obviously you just wanted to test my patience, knowing what I was stating.

Typically, you can only log in as root from console. Being superuser has nothing to do with logging in as root.

And how is the root a lie? What are you saying?... A virus cannot have access to anything other than /home. Unless you go root, then the virus has a window of opportunity.

I know what superuser/root is. And I know what chmod is. I use all this crap every day, if I better know what it is.
