I'm getting a camera in a couple of weeks to film and take pics of random daily stuff, but my friend wants me to direct a couple things this summer, and i don't know what a good video editing software would be.
So if you know, any help or suggestions are appreciated

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA886Z/A...;mco=MjE0NTQwMgIt's what the pro's use. However, it's $1300 and I doubt you'd want to spend that much money on that. However, if it turns into something that you're super passionate out, check that software out again in the future.
On a much cheaper scale:

A bit of a bitch to work with but it's really simple and gets the job done. And it's free! That's always a super plus.

Yes, Sony Vegas is lovely.
If you had a mac, you can always try using iMovie that comes with it.
