You can still have a forum presence without a boatload of posts. We usually do the old fashioned "if the pros outweigh the cons" thing. As far as making design staff is concerned, the community should know who you are (in case they need to contact a mod), you should have submissions, you should post in the resource center, and you should have a good attitude. We let Abbey slide when it came to that last one :P jk

All PS does is delete spam now a days. Really, if you aren't head staff or DS you are just the clean up crew.
If I thought he couldn't handle being the only PS I wouldn't have stepped down, but I don't see the need for two.
