Now, I'm sure most of you out there are using Apache or IIS. Maybe if you're really deep into hosting your own server you might be into something like Lighttpd. But if you haven't heard of NGINX then you need to read up on it. I swear this light yet powerful webserver app is probably the best I've ever seen.

Keep in mind though, it runs best on unix/linux based OS.

Hm, interesting. I've actually become more interested in Yaws as far as web servers go, since it's written in Erlang, and Erlang is uniquely suited to handling a high number of concurrent connections.

Personally, I usually use Lighttpd, but the web server I rent uses Apache.

I'm still an Apache fanfag. It's what I started with, and I'm stuck on it.

Apache is a great learning tool, but it's not the best. I started on Apache as well. :)
