Nothing much really, just a picture of the thousand paper cranes I folded last year, each individual square hand cut from magazines; I'm thinking of doing it again. Has anyone else done this?

Yeah, it is.

Omg that is so cool. I'd love to do that but I'd take me forever to finish the cranes & then hang them.

A ton of work, but the end result is totally worth it imo.

I wouldn't have the patience for that. That or I'd get really sloppy towards the end.
When I was in middle school we'd always do origami during our free time and at the end of the year there animals and flowers all over the place in our classroom.

I have some of those tiny little 3d origami stars hanging from my ceiling. After like, 100 you don't think about it anymore as you're folding them.

Wow, that's really cool. How long does it take you to make just one?

How heavy is it? And how fast will it burn?

Just one? About a minute to a minute and half, I suppose, assuming the paper square is already precut and such.

A couple pounds. And beats me how fast it burns.

Oh wow, looks hella nice! I need to make like 200 or something cranes for my sisters wedding. I would love to just take all of yours & give them to her. x]

On and off from Jul 25 to Sept 21, more off than on. I could probably tell you the exact number of days if you were that curious, but I'm too lazy to figure it out at the moment and won't unless someone desperately wants to know.

I did about 500 and quit.
They don't take too long to fold, but your fingers start to hurt after awhile. :D

did you just use string to hold them together?
synergy
Apr 16 2009, 12:07 AM
yes, just plain twine; 40 cranes per string, with a knot at the bottom, strung with a needle for a total of 25 strings tied together at the top. 25*40=1000 :D
If I do this again, I'll probably arrange the strands differently.
