Okay,so for a while I'd always rather see a human die than an animal.
If I saw two homless organisims on the street one being a dog other human, I would pick up the animal first.
Tons of people tell me this is wrong, but I cannot stand hearing an animal cry.
Tell me what you think.

Animals > humans.
Animals have no fault. Even if they attack other humans.

well, naturally. humans have a tendency to want to nurture "creatures" because they appear to be helpless, whereas human beings should be able to be completely independent.

Some animals are helpless because of humans.
If it wasnt for humans all animals could depend on themselves. how they are supposed to in nature. stupid humans...

Ya one reason why I don't want a pet is because of the fact that I could be taking their freedom from them. I don't find it right to lock an animal up, whether it's in a home or if it's simply out in the back yard. Especially birds, I hate seeing birds caged up.

Most animals can't comprehend displaced reference. So before you start throwing your pity card, realize the animal simply does not give a f*ck.

Not entirely true
Animals aren't as primitive as we may think they are.

It'd depend for me.
I'm one of those people... that can't stand most other people. They do things that "erk" me. Little things, too. Their laugh, or the way they do things. If people aren't at least 50% as similar as me, chances are I won't like there. I don't like most people. If the person was like me, I'd choose them.
However, animals have the ability to, like you say, cry and make us give them a pity party. I love animals, and I in no way, shape, or form condone animal cruelty, but given the rate at which most animals reproduce (in other words, in the immense numbers), it wouldn't hurt to choose the human.
If the human was ill, and needed some TLC, I'd choose them.
If the human was fine, and the animal was ill and needed some TLC, I'd choose it.
It'd depend on the situation, and my mood.

Well, with the exception of monkeys, honey bees, and a few birds, animals can't comprehend things that are removed from time and space, so keeping animals isn't exactly "bad."

I would pick the dog also. You can sell it to an asian restaurant which comes with benefits (1) you make money and (2) its food not being wasted. The homeless person on the other hand is just a drag on society.

What the f*ck are you talking about? We're talking about the intelligence of animals, not how tasty they are.

I wasn't trying to be hostile. Before replying, it's always a good idea to read the thread, so you can determine if the thread is still on the original topic, or if the people posting in the thread have moved on.

Okay. First of all.
We are talking about domesticated animals here. e.g. Dogs, cats, and so forth. What you have to realize is that animals in general don't have the capacity to reason as humans do. They don't ask questions like we do. They don't think like we do. Period. Let's talk about your dog scenario quickly. When pertaining to dogs, you have to understand the psychology of them first. Dogs for the most part think like infants. They generally have two words going on in their little brains such as "feed me. feed me. feed me." or "run away. run away. run away." Just because they are domesticated does not mean they lose their nature as a dog. They still follow the rules. If you have ever watched The Dog Whisperer you will understand that a healthy well balanced dog is one that is obedient well fed and excercised. The human is the dominant species whether you like it or not. We are higher up on the food chain than dogs.
You should never feel sorry for a dog. If you do, you have lost. They will own you after that and it should be the other way around. Have you ever seen a person that owns a dog and it never listens? That's because the owner feels bad for the dog and doesn't do his job right. It's a pack. And you are the pack leader.
Sorry for sounding like Caeser Milan. But he's right.
The human is superior.
