Hello! My name is Kacey Hill, I am 21 years old and I have a very creative mind, I also have a myspace page which I am constantly trying to improve. Anyways I am very interested in learning web design and graphics design and would like to teach myself how to do it all. I know this is possible for I know someone who taught themselves, not personally or I would have them help me. SO I would appreciate any feedback on how I should go about doing this, where would be a good place for me to start? and is there anyone out there who has also taught themselves? Thanks. Kacey

I'm glad you're interested in web/graphic design.

Well, I taught myself and I used many tutorials here on cB and whenever I thought something might not look to good I would post in the Showcase Booth and people told me what I should do to make it better. cB is a great place to start but if you use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or any other image editing software, you can also search online for tutorials. It gets pretty easy once you get used to it but you have to know that it'll take time. I for one, think that the majority of web/graphic designers taught themselves so you shouldn't have problem but it doesn't mean that you have to, I'm sure there are many people out there who would be glad to help you, such as myself. :) Every web/graphic designer doesn't just have talent like that, they had to "devolop" it so don't sweat. Again, just look at some tutorials and ask a few people for constructive critiscm/help and most importantly, have fun. Good Luck.

^ What Mike said.
Also, I actually started out by using google really. And you can also look through tutorials here. But first, you will have to a program such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, etc. But those two programs are the main programs that people use.
Check out the BBoR.

Google is your best friend for any questions.
And to learn web design you should start here:
w3schools.com
Just go through the entire html tutorial then css and then just plkay around and find some tutorials on how to make divs and stuff.
And for any web design questions you can always use the forums here a cB or you can pm(private message) me.

I'm pleased you're interested in web design. You can search your query on Google. And you can search photo editing software (like Photoshop, photo editing pro), tutorials; I hope that they can help you. Best of luck.

I'm currently improving at graphic design, but I'm too scared to try and even touch Web design. Maybe later this year, I'll give it a try, since it's so time consuming.

That's good you're interested in all that stuff. I self-taught myself. CreateBlog is your best friend right now, that's how I learned everything.
Agreed.

i agree that createblog has been a major help. I learned to make website layouts from making myspace layouts. ever since then its been trial and error. html/css sites have also helped me a lot.
visual tutorials are always the best, or sites with code snippets and live previews.

I taught myself also, with Tutorials on CB, youtube and other resources.
But I recommend youtube, it gives a Visual idea on what you are doing.
Or, Just by browsing the net and searching for Great web designers.
