I posted something about this before, but i think i picked the camera out that i want.
But i don't know much about brands and stuff of cameras.
So what do you think about this one?

I got a Canon but the G series are some baller cameras. If you like SLR features but hate carrying an SLR then this is it

Well i've never really had a canon, or any big brand cameras before, i just chose this because its right in my price range and it has some features i like. And yeah i looked at the SLR cameras and there awesome, but out of my price range, so yeah i think i'm sticking with this one, more than likely.

From the looks of it, it seems like a good camera. It's gotten some good reviews as well. I say go for it. But if you're still unsure, maybe you could go to the store & play around with it if they have it on display.

That camera would break the bank for me, but Canon's are great. I have a Powershot SD series that I've had for 6 years and I haven't had a problem with it *knock on wood. Are you really into photography? Because you always go with a more simple camera if you're not sure.

Well the only reason i'm really unsure is because i've never had a canon or a camera like that.
But i was planing to see if i can test one out.

Well my moms getting some money, and i have some money from christmas and my birthday.
But yeah i am really into photography, but i'm still an amateur.

Canons are pretty good. Along with Nikons. It just comes down to preference. And I agree with Dee with the you can go with a simpler camera part. $500 is quite a lot for a compact digital. You can get a Nikon D40 for the same price, which is a DSLR.

I think if you haven't had a digital camera of that caliber before it may be a little intimidating when you first get it. And the way I look at it is why pay for features if you're not going to use them. 14.7 megapixels? If you're just taking photos to share with people though e-mail and make regular prints of that's unnecessary. One thing that probably seems small is the design... if you want something to snap quick photos that you can take with you you'll probably want something that's a little smaller and easier to take with you.
I don't mean to sound harsh, I'm definitely not a pro at picking out cameras by any means, I just don't want you to get something that isn't going to fit your needs.

And I'm just tryig to look for the best i can get with around $500
But i also want something new canon or nikon users can use/enjoy.

That looks like really serious. I think before you are going to fork out all that money for that thing is that you need to establish what you want the camera for. If you want it for quick party pics, then a smaller one would do just fine. If you want, though, to get really serious and make it a true passion of yours, then I would probably check out something still kind of intricate, but not as complicated. Such as the smaller Canon DSLR's.

^ Have you looked into the SD series?
I have a Powershot SD and so does my friend, and she takes a crapload of photos. They last a long time and more portable. Also, you don't have to worry about purchasing lenses.

Oh man that camera can record videos?
That's so cool. Anyways, that's not a DSLR. It's more of a high end compact digital. The DSLRs are here. For the DSLRs you can buy additional lenses if you want to but not for compact digitals.
