I think it looks great you guys. _smile.gif You put a lot of work into it and it turned out to be fantastic. Awesome job. <3

I agree about advertising though. My sig space is all yours if you guys want to make banners. :P

I know! I'm so proud of it. I was already thinking about ideas for next month's issue lol.

I put a link in my sig last night so hopefully that'll get it more hits.

True. So what do you think of it? :D

I love it, I agree with the stock photo (that concrete block thing). Maybe next month you guys can do like the do's and donts to a website in stead of graphics and myspace. like do's and donts to a resource site or a portfolio site etc.. ?

Finally some comments on this thing! dance.gif

I like your suggestions. I'll mention them Backstage. happy.gif

I liked it a lot. I'm so happy with how you divided it all into sections (yay, organization!), and I thought it was a great idea to have a second opinion for the critiques. My favorite was the tutorial/how-to - it was really well written and amusing (all the Twilight references). I also liked the Myspace 2.0... informative thing? (not really a tutorial) and the resources section is like a gold mine. :D

I do have some complaints, though. The first is that it was kind of depressing that all of the graphics being critiqued had more "bad" than "good." I guess you're limited by what people submit, but I think it'd be nice to have at least one really great graphic critiqued and all the good things about it pointed out, so that people can gain insight into what makes a really good graphic.

Also, I think it'd be more interesting if the two people doing the critique don't read each other's critiques before writing their own, because you're often influenced by what others say before you, and I think you get a better impression of what someone really thinks of a graphic if they have no idea what other people think of it. And did Amanda critique her own graphics? That was kind of hmm for me, although I think it's good to be able to look at your own graphic constructively - maybe that could be another section? A kind of this-is-what-I-think-of-my-graphic-and-this-is-what-other-people-think, to point out things that the designer might not notice.

The last thing is really nitpicky, but I was kind of bothered by the grammatical errors in it. Maybe have an editor?

Sorry for the essay. DX I really did love it, though. Can't wait for the next issue! :]

Thank you for the comments & criticism. Now to address it all lol.

I see where you're coming from when you say you'd like to see some good & bad graphics critiqued. I guess we decided not to critique any good graphics because we figured people need to see what's bad in a graphic. But we'll take it into consideration.

I think one of us posted our critiques first & the other one followed, in the thread Backstage. I know what you mean about our opinions being influenced by each other's. I'm pretty sure I added some things after I read Amanda's critique because she said something that I didn't think of. Yes Amanda critiqued her own graphics because none of the members wanted to submit their own work to be critiqued. :( I submitted one or two as well.

An editor? Haha I like that. We went through our posts before we made the topic visible but I guess we missed some errors here & there. pinch.gif

Thank you again for the c&c! _smile.gif

Perhaps share some goodies? Good design sites, useful photoshop brushes or textures that are used often, intro new software, useful fonts, new ideas
Designer interview; how they got into designing, showcase some of their best/worst work, special tips they can share with us? etc etc

I think you guys are really limited to what you can actually write cause as a resource site, a lot of the things discussed are easily found in tutorials or scripts.
