so i'm designing a layout for some middle school organization. the guy said he wanted it just like my site, and included a quick image of what he wanted where. i'm following what he gave me, but of course adding my little changes (he said it was absolutely fine, i said i would OK every change with him). i think it's going ok but it doesn't look...right. the tree and owls must stay in the same position, and the tree and large owl have to have the patterns, but i don't know what to do with the little owl in the tree. tips/suggestions?

I think for the little owl you can have more images of it like flying away...know what I mean?

yeah, i plan on it, but i don't know where or what kind. for such a simple layout, it's going to be really busy.

i'm not really sure. there's not much information on their website. once i get around to needing all the pictures and doing the pages, i'll talk to him about adding more information.

i was thinking about slapping the name to the right of the small owl, but the navigation is going there, and i just don't know what else to do. the small owl looks so wrong right now, i'm trying to fix it.

I think that would work. Or I was thinking maybe inside the table. Like at the top right corner. *shrug

I think it would look better if the organization's name has the same effect as the owls except lighter and not as noticeable...if you get what I'm saying.

I think I like the name being just black, it goes with the black around the owls eyes I guess.

i experimented with the patterns and opacity and effects and different font...nothing else seemed to work as well as that does.

The outcome is totally incredible. The addition of the navigation and the organization's name ties up the whole thing nicely.

damn, i think i'm starting to like this layout more than my layout, which it's obviously based off of. anyway, i'm waiting for a few more opinions then i'm going to send the images to the guy and see what he thinks.

mmk, i sent the images last week and everybody loved it, so i went ahead and started coding it. it was really easy since it's basically an exact replica of my layout. anyway, i'm working with him on the finishing touches, information, and getting it all set up and such. here's what there is so far:

holy cow. this guy wanted this layout done like a week after i said i would do it. which was like, a month ago. he told me what he wanted but didn't give me any specifics or information. so i got log-in information and such so i could set it up on his host and shit, and now he's being absolutely rediculous. changing his mind, doesn't know what he wants, isn't giving me information/pictures i need to do the stuff he wants me to. it's frustratinggg! and then when i get something done, he goes back and edits it as he wants and makes it look like c-rap.

Ohhh okay. I don't like the "About Me" tbh. The owl look choppy & the image is too close to the text. Everything else looks fine. A bit plain, imo. The "Contact Us" picture is low in quality. I guess that's all I have to say. *shrug

the about me was fine until he went and edited it. i keep having to go back and fix all his shix.
contact us picture is also his...it was just slapped on there, i went back and positioned it correctly.
