Yeah, I know it's basically impossible to do layouts on MS Paint, but I was thinking if I could get help that maybe it'd work? And how do I upload them and do the codes? I'm REALLY new at this, and I'd like to make Xanga layouts but...yeah. Any help? Please? And I edit my graphics using picnik.com

Well I don't think MS Paint would work for you unless you have REALLY good skills with it. You can get free trials for some image editing software like Photoshop,Paintshop Pro,Photofiltre,GIMP,etc. First you would need to design your layout how you want it and you have to be familiar with the links, sections, etc. of Xanga. Really, it would take a LONG time for me to tell you everthing you should know but you can try looking in the tutorials here on cB and the Xanga support sub-forum. You can also try to google tutorials for layouts on Xanga. It also depends if you're making a standard layout or DIV/Overlay layout.

First, start with GIMP.

It's free :] Forever.

Once you get that down, let us know, or check out some of our tutorials :]

My advice would be to start with Adobe Photoshop, start with basic webpage design, lear how to slice it and get your hands on HTML [ ref : w3schools.com ]
You need to have good graphic as well programing sense for getting into webdevelopment business.....

I would recommend getting a program rather than using an online editor. Down loadable programs such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro have more tools that you may find useful; you can also find tutorials much quicker on a program. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro x2 an I recommend trying it. There are tons of tutorials around for it, too! My site Vivid-Avenue.net has a few that might be helpful!

As for the coding I would try finding a generator and then using the coding it gives you and trying to decipher it. I learned html coding by using a generator and trying to figure out which portion changed each part.

I know a guy that does some badass shit in mspaint. He also has a drawing tablet, but still.
I suggest using Gimp, or if you have the extra money, try Adobe Photoshop.

The coding is the easy part. You can't have a creative block when you're coding.

There are a bunch of different ways to go about doing this. I would actually encourage you to start out using paint for severel reasons, one it's free two it's very easy to use and three it does come in handy when you are coding in my opinion. The one thing I would advise you to do is take the time to learn the right way... Don't use a generator it will just makenit harder in the log run. Take the time to read thru some tutorials and ask questions it will take some time, but you will actually learn how to do it correctly. Good luck!!!
