I have a pair of heels that fit perfectly, except for the fact that the heel of my foot likes to slip out. The heels of my feet aren't wide enough to fill out the shoe

I purchased some little inserts that you're supposed to stick in the back of your shoe to help keep your foot in place, but they aren't working. Anyone else have this problem? What should I do?

Try some inserts at the front of the shoe (like the triangular shaped ones you place under the ball of your foot). They'll prevent your feet from slipping in the shoe and thus creating even more empty heel space in the back, and also it'll serve as making the shoes half a size smaller so that the heels fit better from the get-go. If that still isn't working, trying both inserts at once.

Do they sell Foot Petals anywhere other than online?

I use some inserts similar to what Gigi mentioned.. The brand is Sure Comfort and they stay put even though there's no glue, so you can take them out and put them in other shoes. They were $4 a pair, though, so I bought several just so I wouldn't have to readjust them. They provide a cushion for the platform (the part right behind your toes) and keep them from sliding forward into the toe of the shoe so they'll be less likely to slip off the back. I discovered these when I worked at the stripper shoe store and if you can get a hold of them, I'd highly recommend it.

However, I haven't been able to find this exact brand since, so Target sells a fabric-y version for the same price. Only problem is that they DO use an adhesive so once they're in your shoes, they're in for good. I'd try positioning them without removing the backing first so you can decide if you want them in there permanently.
