i just got my braces off today yea sweetness but now i got this thing...called a fixed retainer? like a lil piece of wire cemented on to the bak of ur bottom teeth? i mean its sorta freakin me out cus my dentist said i had to have it on for the rest of my life, im like holy fudge...ne one else have this? n did u get it removed after a while?

i had braces now got a retainer but dont have that wire in my teeth but my friend does so i cant help ya sorrry

haha yeah i got my braces off last year..n they did put the wire one...n this past week i had to go back cuz parts of the cement/glue chipped off...n they put new glue....yeah...they said we dont get it taken off till we're like 25..but i guess its ok...u get used to it after a lil while..its fine now..jus gotta floss n brush well..cuz sometimes food gets stuck between the wires n ur teeth...haha....but i guess its worth it cuz u wanna b proud of ur smile...

Yeah, i have a retainer. And yeah, i have to wear it for the rest of my life. but rejoice! my dentist, for some reason, has clearish retainers, like teethcaps, removable, and only at night. yay

omg i had the same thing! it was about a year ago, and the doctor was all "im sory but your teeth are f***ed up so your gonna need this"...2 months later he took them out ^_^

i say rip off the retainers...and when you go to the orthadontist, say that you already suffered <however long you had your braces> damn long years! and then throw it in his face.

oh man, when i had my retainer, it snaped in half, and when i tried to sleep, the sharp end would poke my cheek >_<

i gOt my braces off last year...but i never had that kind of retainer...i mean..i have a retainer...but i only have to wear it at nite now..hehe...*feels special*

yeah my friend had that... and why would it matter if you had it on for the rest of your life? you can't see it and it doens't hurt... hahah

My brother has that. But I think it's called a Maintainer or something. I know it's not a retainer. It's just there so that his teeth can grow straight.
