I most def can't think of any. Here is where Soulja Boy ranks as a rapper.

Plies and Maino.
There was a time when 50 Cent actually brought some serious heat to the microphone. '50 Cent is the Future' and 'Power of the Dollar' are two unreleased albums that you should cop. These days, all 50 Cent is to this game is a business man, and a damn good one at that. I care not to listen to his music unless I'm in the mood for it. The Get Rich or Die Tryin' OST was on point from an overall standpoint.
Lil' Wayne, in my opinion, despite having the potential to make better music, and showing signs of light with the skill that he has; represents everything that is wrong with hiphop today. That facade of a gangster image that he tries to portray makes me sick. Hell, white people from the 'burbs like Wayne more than niggas in the hood.

Plies, definitely. I'm normally willing to listen to anything once but he's just intolerable.
Edit: Why is "rapper" in quotation marks? Even if they're bad at it, they're still rappers =\

honestly, i think plies is the worst out there, with songs like "get you wet" seriously i think you have NO life if all you "rap" about is sex. seriously no one cares much for that, i know i dont but hey, if you wanna listen to people degrading girls then go ahead do what you please but i just think that he is the worst "rapper" out there.

The funny thing with Plies is he's actually educated and graduated with a degree in nursing, but yet you would never know that by the way he raps.
I remember watching him on 106, and he talked a whole lot different than he raps. I was thinking to myself whats up with that. It all came to light when I found out he had a degree.

yeah this just adds to me hating him. why can't he just act like he really is smart? it's annoying. this is just like that whole thing of him acting like he's so bad ass and a criminal and all this shit, writing songs about jail or some shit and he didn't even have a criminal record until he was like 32 or something. not saying that not having a criminal record means you haven't done the shit but still...we all know he's just tryin to play into a certain role that he doesn't really fit into normally. imo

^ I agree, however, most rappers feel they must portray a certain image in order to sale records. Shame he doesn't enlighten America on what he has accomplished education wise as opposed to street wise.

Plies was pretty much the only emcee I heard of with a prestigious degree. I also heard that Lil Wayne was doing something in Houston at one point.

50 cent is just stupid and lil' wayne makes me laugh. For some reason I like his voice, but the things that come out of his mouth are astounding. Most times in which they don't even make sense or even relate to the song. He is coming to concert in my area and I wouldn't pay a dime to go see him.

How is 50 cent stupid? 50 cent is a better businessman than rapper. There is hardly no money in rap nowadays. Like I said in another thread, he has all types of ventures including a video game. He doesn't have to make another CD and will still make more than any rapper whose name is not Diddy or JayZ. And 50 cent is the stupid one? I beg to differ.

50 Cent: There's nothing stupid about him, or any "lame" track he puts out. if it's getting regular radio airplay, and is on the DJ's list at the club, someone is profiting. in Fif's case, the man who's in charge of his own affairs, he's making the loot. Then man patented 'G-Unot,' and made money off of being insulted.
Weezy: He's what the idiot masses want these days and white people seem to love him.

LL Cool J: He's in danger of ruining his legacy as a pioneer of hiphop. He was 17 when he dropped 'Rock the Bells.' He once had a rep for crushing rap battles in Queens. Most cats in the game right now don't even know how to spell freestyle, much less do it. His new shit is wack, but if it gets numbers, it gets numbers.
As an artist (producers included), you pursue hiphop for one of two reasons; to make money or to produce art. Rarely, do the two coincide these days.
sidenote - In order to be well informed on hiphop and her legacy, you need to know the ins, outs and the history. Otherwise, half-assed responses based on biased opinions will get shat on like a white car under a tree.
