Why is it that it feels like 90% of myspace layouts are emoish with shitty rock bands?

not really. I havent seen too many emo ones or shitty rockbands.
^Same here. Besides I see way more cute,movie,"quotes",music,imaginative,etc. layouts then just "shitty rock band" and "emoish" layouts.
Well, what do you consider a "shitty" rock band? Whatever it is, that's your opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way.
I have the same response to everyone who complains about the type of layouts made: Learn to make your own. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to use or even look at those layouts.
