The second one. I think that it's more practical.

^ Well, if it's something she's going to get a lot of use out of, I say why not?
I personally don't care for either of them, but I say go with the one that is most comfortable and practical for you.

^ you have way better taste, that jacket is incredible.
& in response to this topic, i would say neither. the first one EVERYONE has that style, & the second one is just not that cute.

If you're looking for warmth, longer coats are always warmer... Like a cute trenches, toggle coats or peacoats that go down to your knees or just above.

I don't know about you, but to me, $88 for a coat, ANY coat, is a reasonable price. Let alone a winter coat...Holy crap a $38 coat. I don't know if it's just me, but I would prefer to spend more money on a jacket you're going to get a lot of wears out of...
I would pick the first one, only because puffy jackets are 1) out and 2) you could look like the Michelin man in it. So only go for the second one if you are deathly skinny.
Plus I like Jane's suggestion waaaaay better, but the style could be wrong for you. *shrug*

The first one. Casual and comfortable. I don't really think I like the second's one material. I mean, I don't like the noise.
