Anyways what sort of image extension is the image file that you are trying to uplaod? it has to be ending with a .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, and stuff that is listed in the my controls and avatar settings.

Are you sure your avatar's the right size? It has to be no more than 100x100 pixels, and smaller than 15kb.

Try that and see if it works.
