1. mystline - Your icons were too simple and only had cropping and fading.

2. moorepocket - In your second & third icons, too many effects were put in.

Round 3 Theme
For next week, the remaining contestants are to make an icon that has your favorite quote in it. There can be no images to represent your quote, only words and color. Once you are ready to submit your icon, please PM it to one of the judges. Do not post it in this topic, or you will be disqualified. Please keep in mind that once you send in your icon, you cannot send in another one replacing that so please be certain that's your submission when turning it in. All submissions are to be in by 11:59pm on Monday, September 15, 2008.

I think they're referring more to coloring and texture effects than what vogueXdirge did. His has a lot going on, but I don't find it overwhelming.

Anyway, congratulations guys and good luck on the next round. Quote icons are hell to make (at least for me).

I really liked Ryan's icons. It demonstrates variety. The fading on mystline was nice despite it's simpleness. All in all, great job everyone!

Oh jeez. I thought for sure I'd be 'going home' this round.

Personally I liked Mystiline's icons, they're gorgeous and simplistic.

Haha I thought my icons were pretty bad. I did them last minute. I thought they were due the day before they actually were x_o.

^ Thanks Blaqheartedstar (don't know what else to call you xD). I really like yours too, 28 Days is a great movie and your icons captured the feeling of the movie amazingly. I'm also impressed that you got those types of screen caps into an icon. What I mean is, there seem to be many caps in your icons that are shot from a-far and those can tend to be difficult when made into an icon.

Pooonani - For something that was made last second, They turned out really well, and humorous

My movie was Memento. It's an amazing movie written by Christopher Nolan [Writer/Director/Producer(?) of The Dark Knight].

I was gonna do the dark knight i have soo many images for that movie. but wasn't sure who else was gonna pic it.
as for my icons it was a major pain to look for good pictures since the movie is pretty old. But i'm totally glad you like them.

Thank you so much! I really wasn't expecting this, especially since I was a day late and I wasn't even entirely sure I hadn't been disqualified. *headdesk* I'M SO SORRY!!!! I promise not to get the dates/times/"midnight" mixed up next time.

All the submissions look amazing. I actually really liked the simplicity of mystline's set, although I think that because everyone else did a lot of different kinds of effects, they might've come across as too plain.

I also really like voguexdirge's (love how they all match and make a set, but can stand very well on their own) and Amanda's (the first one made me laugh, even though I've never heard of the movie). I don't agree with what was said about Ryan's second one (I didn't see how it had too many effects), but I do agree that the third one may be a bit overdone.

@Amanda: The original screencap for the last one was rather bright and cheery with all this sunlight streaming through the stained-glass windows making a pretty picture, and it didn't suit the mood I wanted ("faithless"), so I made it darker. I probably overdid it, though. :x There's a lot of black in there.

I was originally going to do "The Dark Knight," but I was running low on time and couldn't/didn't know where to find good screencaps of it. And because I thought everyone else would be doing it too.

Well I must say Its disappointing that Mystline was dropped, I really liked her stuff last time and this time, even though they were simple.

Hahaha I think the Final Fantasy set looks pretty darn depressing too, but I guess it may be because it's very dark, overall. Darker than blaqheartedstar's.

I terms of colors mines takes the cake. Its pale and glommy.
the final fantasy set it awesome, colors vary. but the images used... yeah it beats mines hands down.

I figured just four unrelated icons (besides the subject) would be weird, so I picked "sorrow" as a kind of theme.

Amanda, you do "pale and gloomy" so well. I can't. >_< I always go overboard.

Oh, I thought the same thing. But I was confident that they really worked with my movie (Memento) since polaroids are a major part of the movie.
