Typical shortcuts for a "vintage" look are:

- Dark Blue color layer set to "Exclusion"
- Light Orange color layer set to "Multiply"
- Light Blue color layer set to "Color Burn"
- Lowering the Saturation of the picture

if we knew what program you were using....that would help too. :)

I think every site out there with coloring/photo tutorials has one on the vintage look. I know there are a billion of them on here. I think the link given to you earlier should lead you to them. _smile.gif

You could always experiment with the channel mixer, or even just mix random colors with a new fill layer, and play around with the settings. thumbsup.gif

Dark blue layer set on exclusion is the quickest. I use it in a lot of my stuff.

yeah, navy blue and darker does the trick... not black though.
browns, sepia, reds and greens also do the trick as well.

it leads out of CB but this dude has some really good photoshop coloring techniques.

Ok, I feel awkward linking to some of my stuff, but:

Can you show us an example of the type of vintage that you'd want to create? Vintage has a lot of different perspectives.
