I am trying to learn XML and XSLT. I have used the w3schools tutorials with much success. I need to find a way to test my code on a server, but do not have access to one online. Is it possible to make one of my partetions into a server? I plan to use XSLT fragments within a div to bring in the data from the XML document as I do not need the XML data for the entire page.
I do not know a whole lot about networking or what I would need to make this possible. I read something about needing an "application server" for the server-side XSLT fragments. How do I make the partetion into an "application server?" Or is there an easier way of accomplishing this?
Thanx!!!!!!!

A server is just a piece of software that "serves" user requests for pieces of data. So you don't need to partition your hard drive to make a server -- you just have to install the necessary software. I'm not sure what software you are looking for, but if you want to serve web pages (aka, make a web server), you install Apache or LightTPD.

Thank You! I have found Apache to download and php. Do I need to download XML to the "server" to use it? Or is it standard in server programs?
