You know how Converse is doing the multi-musician collabs for their 100 year anniversay? Levis, the jean company is doing the same thing. Right now they only have songs by a few artists (Estelle, Wale, and Nikka Costa, all of whom I love, btw), but there are a bunch of blank silhouette so some more musical goodness is to follow.

What do you think of these marketing campaigns? Which one do you think is better?

I have no problem with these kind of things because the brands are actually very good and there's nothing wrong with musicians wanting to promote themselves. I wasn't aware that Levis was doing one so I guess I'll have to go with Converse?

They gave Perez Hilton his own feature on the Levi's thing.

Lame.

I love what converse did/is doing. I think it's really creative marketing and what not.

Levi's, eh. I still like their commercials where someone is putting on a pair of pants and as they're doing so, the city pops up behind them. Those are good commercials.

Perez's playlist isn't bad. And it's 10 songs I didn't have before so, psh.

I don't really believe that "art" and marketing should be so closely intertwined. I feel that it somehow cheapens art and the creative process.
