Hello and greetings to my fellow createblogers.

I was wondering the significance to having ads on your domain.

I recently purchased the basic plan from 1and1 hosting and I'm just currently waiting for the server to process my domain transfer from godaddy.com

What I mean by ads is ones such as:
1. http://aberisk.com/
2. http://barettaa.com/
3. http://alluredesigns.org/
4. http://bowafishtech.co.cc/
5. http://atomicaffliction.com/

What are the benefits of having ads on your page and how does one go about obtaining them?

Thank you for your time. It is most appreciated.

hey !:] glad you used my site, well there are many different reasons why people have ads, some free hosts require them but most often it is for profit. Ads from bidvertisers pay in paypal and have a 10 dollar payout. Every click is 6 cents, you need to be 18 for google ads, so barely anyone uses them, but other than the bidvertisers ads, there are ads that admins put up themselves, they charge a price for someone who wants a spot on their site. We use the profits for paying our hosting or other miscellaneous things :] Ads are for revenue :] basically :]

Ah, thank you for that explanation. I believe I understand now, I appreciate it. ^_^

Do you want further explanation, or do you mind if I close this?
melancholiclights
Well, I suppose if you have anything further to add, you very well could, of course you may close this if necessary.

Nah, I'll leave it open. I didn't read the first response, and I guess more could be added.

For Google ads, you don't necessarily have to be eighteen. I'm not eighteen and I managed to get them. My bank requires me to have my dad "co-owner" of my checking account, so they allow you to get the ads because I have someone older than eighteen on my account.

The ones where people pay a set amount for a certain length of advertising time is a gold mine, just so you know. wink.gif

You can also do paid blogging. But for most of those your blog has to have been online for at least 3 months, and have 20 unique posts. You can make a good amount of money off those.
