There seems to be a few active duty and veterans of the US Forces on CB. I would like to motion for a Veterans Group. Don't knock it just yet due to lack of members relative to this type of group. I know of a group that has
one member that exists.
Just thought it would be a really fun idea.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=204693Ha ha, my original intention was to create a new member group for "veterans" but it ended up being just for ex-staff members.

and what are the requirements for someone to be promoted?

Q_Q press ctrl + alt + delete twice to be promoted.

Whats with Friday?
And promotion? I didn't look at it as a promotion. Unless, thats what you guys call it to be in a group. I don't know how you guys do that backstage.
Requirements? To currently serve or have served in the US Forces. Even better, I think any countries forces. I haven't seen any others though. Just the US.

How would you prove that you've served?

How would you prove that you've served?
That is a good question I knew someone would ask.
I suppose taking a picture with your uniform. Of course, anyone can go to a surplus store and buy a uniform. Now if they can put it on correctly is a sure hint.
If pictures aren't suffice evidence or if they just don't have a picture, I'd say post any reporting duty orders (Scan 'em in).
I would recommend blacking out your social and any sensitive info before you do that.

i would really hope that no one is that ridiculous that they would go to a surplus store and get a uniform so that they could be in the veterans cb group.

I would hope that people wouldn't lie about serving in the armed forces just to be in something as silly as an online user group but you never know. I'm not sure how comfortable people would be about scanning in orders. Not for something like this.
Would there be any perks?

What kind of perks would you want on a forum?

Meh, I don't see why not.
Still doesn't make up for no cB arcade, but it's better than nothing.

yeah there shouldn't be any perks, since only about 3 people are gonna get this anyway and the majority of cb couldn't be in the forces if they wanted to.

I just meant like would they get special abilities, like Official Members do, or Staff Veterans.

Nothing will ever make up for no cB arcade.

Well, there are a few members that are currently serving or have thought about serving in the US forces, at least. I mean, there aren't many members in the official promoters group, but it still exists.

I don't think it would hurt.

i don't have an "issue" with this, because it doesn't really matter to me either way. i just think it seems like...why? i mean i'm not knocking anyone in the forces, but it's not connected to cb at all. if we have that why don't we have other groups for people that partcipate in some other thing in their life. like a group for those who skateboard, or play basketball, or work out, or read books, or play guitar or blahblahblah ect, ya know?
it's just confusing to me because it's not related.

kristov (sorry, I'm unsure of your name), it's not that I don't think this is a fun idea, because it is. The problem is essentially what JC has pointed out. I think that being a vet is a great accomplishment, but so is being a mother (*cough*), a straight A student, a college grad, etc. So the problem isn't necessarily that your idea is bad, it's that it doesn't really apply to this type of forum.
