but recently a site has asked me to do a layout for them
and asked me what would i like in return like what kind
of promotion or whatnot.. what would be the best thing
to ask the site for in return? it's a modeling site.

If you have a website of your own, ask for them to link to it on their main page.

tell them to advertise your site. if you have one. or tell them to give you credit to your myspace. so that other sites can contact you to get you to model for them too. you know what i mean?

i usually ask for support mine is a design site, which is usually a link or something of the sort to get people to come to your page
