Do regular members have the ability to mass PM? I was sending a PM today and didn't see a place to mass PM, so I've become curious.

no i don't think so. i don't even think staff had the option to CC until a few months ago when trish changed that option.

Nope. It used to be just Admins then (like JC mentioned), Trish changed it to all staff.

Two words: Chain PMs

My first reaction? I am inclined to say no. Partly because of the potential mass advertising that could occur. Second, especially with recent spamming (porn) issues, who's to say that people won't spam inboxes with such items?

I don't mind giving it further thought though and of course, Dani and Dee should provide feedback as well.

(and yes, chain PM's is a possiblity as well)

How about giving the ability to only Official Members and up, then?

Because our official members never post porn...

It really would be quite convenient, but spam potential is definitely there.

How about we can mass PM but all Mass PMs must be reviewed by a mod.

Hm, yeah, but I think any spam problems would be easy enough to deal with and control if this feature were limited to just OMs and up.

that would be a lame prize to me. i wouldn't/haven't ever used or needed to use mass pm.

and how hard would it be to trace back to the person? not just anyone can become an official member in a day, so if they were going to spam pm boxes, they'd do it over their regular username. so right there, it's not hard to catch the culprit because their username is on every pm they send.

Out of interest, what DID happen to the Forward option, and can we have it back?

I'm all for this. Also I wished I had a bigger inbox lol. I have to like archive my messages almost twice a week. People spam PM me alot.

Just to give you a quick explanation of how it works..

Different groups are allowed the option to HAVE the option to mass PM. If it's enabled, they have a limit on how many people they're allowed to CC in an PM - currently I'm pretty sure that limit is 5.

That being said, I would not mind allowing everyone above the member level the option to send a PM to up to 5 people at a time. *shrug*
