For general psychology I'm going to have to buy an iClicker. But why? :/

What is it used for?

Exactly.

I had one for econ. They're used for the teacher to basically poll the class; you use them to answer the questions. They can also be used for attendance because you register them for the class.
...but I spilled vitamin water on mine and it broke. If your professor is going to have extras, don't bother and just borrow.

I looked it up, and can't even begin to say what it is used for.

Sounds like that would make sense Nicki. I had no idea what it was used for at first, I saw a similar device used as a prop on Nickelodeon show iCarly, the girl (sam) used it for recorded audience sounds.
So, I guess they can be used for anything that has options. It'll be interesting. My highschool was never so tech.

iClickers don't record sounds. All they allow you to do is answer multiple choice questions.
High school never had 300+ person lectures.

I had one of those for an astronomy class. Our prof. registered our answers and later on they were used as extra credit in figuring out our grades.

I have one of those, but I didn't have to purchase it... they stay in the classroom. Basically, the are used if the professor wants to ask questions. In my class, there is something going on the projector and you have an A, B, C, D, and E button and my professor would have us use the letter buttons to answers questions and do polls and stuff.

I don't exactly have an iClicker, but I have something similar. The difference is that we can click in values AND letters. They are used for quizzes, extra credit, attendance, etc. I used a RFS Clicker (or something like that, I forgot what's it's called) for all my exams in two chem courses.
We have to purchase it, and it's like.. $45 new from the bookstore, and $35 used. I bought a used one from someone on campus for $25 or $30 (I forgot how much it was) and she said she barely used it. *must not support overpriced campus bookstore*

Im not sure whether I have to buy my books this year.

Im sure we have to buy our basic supplies (like binders, folders, notebooks, ect.) There has been talk about having a shortage in books so I might have to buy my own.

I hope not

I don't think the return policy quite works like that.
