Those two have been dealt with. I went ahead and closed the irrelevant topics from 2004 that they decided to bump, I'm sure no one else will have a problem with that. Some of the topics are still open, so it's not like I closed every one. I'm losing brain cells having to deal with them.

What about that then. I saw that topic and didn't really see anything wrong with it considering there's plenty of other Picture topics like that.

They said mods were deleting the topics The only topics of theirs that I deleted were the spam topics that they made. And of course, the semi-nude pictures they posted in the Pictures forum. The other topics shouldn't be deleted. They were just bumped.

So, since this issue has been resolved, may I close your topic? (I'm on a roll, can't stop now )

Edit: Opps, didn't see you editted. I deleted that topic because it was deffinitely against the Guidelines.

there was some topic about music that was deleted though right? i was about to reply to a post in one talkin about cam'ron and then when i tried to quote all the sudden the topic was gone.

Well, looking through the Trashcan there were other topics that were deleted before I got here. So I'm not too sure about those. In my opinion, they shouldn't have been deleted. Nothing is deleted unless it's advertising.

I closed the other topics from 2004 that were like "There's going to be an earthquake" and other current events that aren't, well, current anymore. It's pointless to have bumped those. Sorry about all this chaos guys.

Good going mods, so why wasn't that Martial Arts thread in the lounge closed then? brooklyneast05 said he was about to respond to a topic you guys closed. I bumped them because I wanted to dicuss hip hop. Making a new thread defeats the purpose because there were so many educated opinions and knowledgeable posts in the the threads that I did bump that could further a dicussion.

Well, I'd say it's spamming if they're just going back through pages in the lounge and turning everything upside down just to be doing it. If it's one or two topics here and there, it's no big deal, but if it's someone filling the first page of the lounge with old bumped topics, that's wrong and "I was just trying to have a discussion" is just an excuse.

Hey, I'm just curious, did you guys change your policies about deleting topics? 'Cause I remember back in the day, normally you would never delete spam but just close it.

We started deleting actual ad spamming because we wanted it to actually stop. LJ support was getting bombed with it. I think you were here for that, though.

As far as regular spam, there's no rule that says it has to be closed rather than deleted; however, I'd say if it's in mass quantities (and the topic titles are inappropriate, as they were last night), it gets deleted.
