I'm a huge noob in Photoshop and I was wondering if there was anyone who can tell me how to get diagonal lines like this:

I've always just rendered them by hand. But if you want to get lazy, I'm sure you could find a brush somewhere, or maybe the pen tool would work.

Yeah, but whenever I try rendering it, it comes out fuzzy and looks crappy.
9001
Fuzzy?
decaydancefbr
Yeah, like it looks like a crappy quality image and the sides of the line look super jagged.

Make it in a separate layer, and add a blur filter.

Patterns!

That wasn't wuite what I was looking for. I tried it that way and it didn't work

But the general idea's the same.

So do you want something that's not a perfect 45-degree diagonal? Or you want something that's colored, or with the lines thicker than 1 pixel?

The easiest way is to make the pattern.

Just make it bigger like 150px or something. Or draw it yourself with the pen tool.

How about...

Open a Canvas.

Use that marquee shape tool where you can create your shapes. The one that is Point to Point.

Create a new layer. Start from top. Hold shift, and drag to the bottom of the canvas at an angle. Then go left or right, depending where you want it, create the width of that diagonal. And hold shift again but your going up at an angle. And connect it with the beginning point.

Fill it in or do whatever you want with it (Even add patterns or gradient or whatever with the Layer Style).

Duplicate the layer, and position the other diagonal lines. It might take some time. I rather work with Patterns that already have diagonal lines.

I'll try it and let you know what I get, thanks. [:

I basically want it exactly like that with different colors and without the text.

Okay, then.

^Save that and edit the colors, then define it as a pattern. It should work (I tested it), but if it doesn't, let me know.

Basically, all I did was redraw the lines in black and white using the pen tool, then taking a selection of it using trial-and-error until it repeated perfectly as a pattern.

Thank you so much. It worked. [:

You're welcome. :] Glad I could help.
