why have myspace made the about me section so f#@*ing small so its just a pain to customize your myspace rrraaarrrrhhhhh i hate you tom lol
jaeminnie
Moved to Designers' Cafe.

I understand your frustration. I only code MySpace defaults because MySpace stylesheets annoy me, but Tom keeps making one bad decision after another, just like he always has. -_-
Tomates
Yeah i really hate the new updates.
I liked myspace when it first started out i think with out all this fancy hubba jubba with the games and such.
Now with the about me and who id like to meet section freakishly small and just out of place from the other stuff.
They are power editing hungry
xstarstruckk
he posted a blog about the changes.

and the size bothered me to but he said they're changing it because it was a mistake.

QUOTE
o doubt some of you were confused today when you clicked "edit profile" - the Blurbs (about me/who i'd like to meet) were moved to their own new section, and the headline was moved to the Basic Info section.

I know that change, however small, is hard to get used to. I know you'd like things to be in the place where you expect them to be, but please know there are reasons for these changes. Now the options you can choose from the edit profile screen match the names of sections on the profile. We are working on revamping the whole edit profile section, with a more customizable, easier to use editing tools, and its important to name everything appropriately for this to make sense once its complete. You'll see more of what I'm talking about in the coming weeks as I preview it in blogs. We've been working on a new profile and home page for several months, and it should all see the light of day later this year.

Thanks for your patience, and btw, we will increase the size of the boxes back to the size they were before. That was a mistake!

Mistake my ass. He needs to hurry his ass up.

I feel better after ranting, so my original post has been edited out. xD

It boils down to Tom and MySpace failing, always.

What's the rush? One) Are you in a great deal of a hurry to edit your profile? Is it some life-threatening emergency? Two) It's MySpace.

I personally don't mind the change, and it's not that hard to get used to. For someone new on MySpace, it's easier to understand and more efficient to those who weren't already used to the old interface. It's finally categorized correctly, blurbs is where blurbs should be. Instead of getting bothered by it, I actually like it. It still doesn't affect me that much, however, since I don't edit my profile often or actually update my headline.

And the sizes of the scroll boxes will be fixed, so I'm more than chill as f**k on the situation.

I don't pay enough attention to Myspace. I usually just log in and check my messages and leave. I skip the whole "looking at people's profiles" and I haven't changed mine in like 2 years. I'm sure it looks like shit. But as long as the links work...

QUOTE(Elba @ Jul 24 2008, 02:10 PM) *

Lol at your assumptions.

MySpace could make the site a lot more user-friendly so that there'd be less confusion among fewer of its users, that's what I meant.

Mine is stuck as a blank page that says "Under Construction."

I'm in a bit of a rush.
Vaguememory
Myspace is being such a pain in the arse, and look at what he said about "New Profile" He's getting ready to change the profiles. People are going to have to learn how to customize these new profiles. What the heck, I mean i'm not a designer so this doesn't directly affect me, but myspace is a very good vantage point for trying to get something out to the world, and Tom & the rest of the Myspace crew are making this harder, by making things harder to get to. I liked the new navigation, but if he changes things to much more, things could get ugly.

Oh, no. It's stuck on Under Construction. You won't get to edit your about me in hopes of impressing someone over the internet. It's not broken, it's all there. If you can get your head out of your ass and just tolerate some shit on your oh-so-important site, then you should have no problem changing your "Under construction" to whatever you wish it to be.
Seriously, all people do is complain. It's not user-friendly, ohnoes. I personally think you're all just used to the old settings, that's why you're complaining about the big incovenient change. For anyone new to MySpace, they'd find the new interface pretty easily navigated.

Am I the only one who does all the coding by hand in a text editor regardless of what site it is for?

Myspace needs to get back being simple. They change everything so often, that people can't get used to it, so most people move to facebook or whatnot.
I can totally relate to the people who are ranting about the new about me and who i'd like to meet, because it makes it so hard to navigate through the code.
All in all, this is driving away people instead of attracting them, because it's so confusing and most people don't want to deal with it. lol (in my opinion...)

OMFG

Eh, this change doesn't effect me much. I don't use myspace to make my layouts, so I don't really have to worry about it. Even when I did work off myspace, I used Wordpad. It's much easier, and you'll have a backup saved somewhere in case something happens. People who can't seem to read Tom's little alerts are accusing me of having layouts that make your About me disappear, though. I guess that's a downside...

What's with the hatred towards the mood thing? I love it. They give you a funny-looking alien smilie when you set it as indifferent. I get a kick out of it. shrug.gif

I agree with Schizo. MySpace does sometime make your stuff disappear so you should work in something else and copy and paste. I work off of Notepad for my layouts and it's a lot easier because you can see everything instead of having to scroll through that tiny box.
